Garick Donates to the Kent State University Business School

(CLEVELAND, OH) Garick, a nationwide distributor and processor of sustainable, renewable natural resource products, is proud to announce that it supported Kent State University’s first annual Business Concept Competition. Kent State’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation hosted the competition and Garick sponsored it with a monetary donation and participation on the panel of judges. The winning teams were chosen in March and the first place team received $1,000 and will proceed to a regional competition at John Carroll University.Garick is a major advocate of local universities and it saw a great opportunity in sponsoring this competition and helping to enhance Kent State’s students’ lives. Involved with Kent State’s business school for a number of years, Garick participates in both undergraduate and graduate marketing classes. Additionally, Garick’s President and CEO, Gary P. Trinetti, has been a guest speaker numerous times for the College’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation.
Together Mr. Trinetti and Patrick W. Mahoney, Garick’s Executive Vice President and COO, founded Garick in 1980. Both graduates of Kent State’s business school, this competition was particularly personal for them because it supports the entrepreneur spirit, mind, and ideas and aids in building dreams; something they achieved when incorporating Garick.
Of the competition, Mr. Trinetti said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for college students to pursue their ideas and aspirations at a young age. It is an honor to provide sponsorship to the Business Concept Competition and is a privilege to contribute and reward these great business concepts.”
